37 na po

The A|X Idols..

37 na.. Going strong pa..

The agency has just celebrated our 37th Anniversary. Being the newly-hired ones (usually fresh grads like us, The Powerhouse Batch), we were tasked to be this year's event organizers. Dubbed as "37: ika-tatlumpu't pitong taon ng serbisyo, saya, at benta", the celebration that we had was just short and simple. We prepared A|X Idol, and a music video about the agency's 37 miracle years. Yeah, it was in VRP's speech that we, as part of the selection realized that it was really a miracle to exist for another year, another day, even another minute. .  Yes, we were just small.. but we're built to last.

Actually, the preparation before this big yet not-so-big event was was kept most of us busy. We had some sort of rehearsals, you know, just like what we used to do in High School. What's great about this is that there's more bonding moments for all the members of AnnComm, and joking time, too. Hehehe! Hanalulu, ano nga ulit ung corny, small, and big jokes mo?

It's just so good to be part of it. To all of you guys, Cheers! Sabi nga dun sa letterhead (nga ba yun?) Together, we're awesome.. Big Smile

Happy Birthday Mama!

I've been quite busy for the past weeks. Yan yata ang favorite line ko. Hahaha. Everytime I fail to post anything on this blog,  being "busy" with something is always my excuse.

I don't know, it's just that even this entry was not really posted on actual birthday of my mom, i'll make this appear as such.. Big Smile

I just wanna greet my Mom a Happy Happy Birthday. Papa, Michael, Lorraine and I love you so much.. And I know the rest of the people around you also love you as much as we do.. Ayoko na mag-enumerate, masyadong marami.

Our most recent family picture

Actually, this post is just to make people know that my Mom, our Mom, with her  queerness (that's our secret!), is the Best Mom in the whole wide world.. or universe.. or whatever you want to call this space that encloses everything.

I thank God for Moms like you. We thank God for someone like you..

BIDA Reader Campaign named Best Student PR Plan

(College of Mass Communication, September 18) -- Ten Communication Research students from the College of Mass Communication are this year's Grand Prix Champions of the Student Public Relations (PR) Plan Competition of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). Their BIDA Reader Campaign was adjudged the best of the five finalists that proposed a reading advocacy plan for a fictitious city named San Mateo in Northern Mindanao. The final competition and awards ceremonies were held at the Landbank Manila Head Office on September 17, 2006.

The 10 students were Jenna Mae Atun, Aristides Bejosano, Charissa Cortuna, Kathleen Kristy Dorico Jan Claire Luzarraga, Cherry Lou Manibog, Fatima Joyce Miranda, and Sarah Jane Ocampo, Carlito Parungao, Jr., and Pamela Joy Sumanga. They were advised by Dr. Fernando Paragas. They received individual gold medals and a cash prize of 20,000 pesos. They will also attend the National PR Congress, for free, where they will exhibit their BIDA Reader Campaign Plan and receive their Junior Anvil Award.

The BIDA Reader Campaign is a four-stage, multi-sectoral PR initiative that advocates reading as an enjoyable, admirable and rewarding activity for young people from 10 to 21 years old by linking it with the concept of celebrity. Derivatives of the BIDA Reader concept then become key messages for each phase of the campaign, namely: the Awareness and Interest Phase entitled "Ganahan ka mahimong BIDA?" with the distribution of print collaterals and a major launching event; the Desire Phase "Be the leader. BIDA Reader!" with school tours and caravans as well as career guidance and symposia; the Action Phase "BIDA reader. Be the winner!" with a series of competitions from quiz bees to public debates; and the Loyalty Phase "Certified BIDA!" with a culminating awards party.

Noted advertising executive Javier Jose "JJ" Calero, ZenithOptimedia Chair, presided over the Board of Judges. The other judges were Jess Matubis of Maynilad, Ritzi Villarico Ronquillo of MERALCO, Rita Festin of the Asian Development Bank, and Jaime Ong of the De la Salle University.

Second and third places went to the University of Asia and the Pacific and the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pilipinas respectively. The University of the Philippines Manila and the Colegio de San Juan de Letran also made it to the finals. Thirteen other universities submitted their PR Plans.

friends

Today, actually last night, I again realized that friends play special roles in each other's lives; that they are people who stand by each other even from a distance..

I learned that it does not matter whether we get to see each other everyday, or just once in twelve months. It doesn't matter whether we talk to each other every single day, or just once in a blue moon. It doesn't matter whether we show up on some special occasions or sometimes fail to do so.

It won't matter if we weren't able to keep in touch, even for a long time. For a long time, here, means our remaining lifetime.

What matters to us is that we still consider ourselves friends. Even without the physical presence. What is important is you, both of you, or all of you understand. It all boils down to communication. Even telekinetic communication. All it takes is the listening, the communicating, the feeling, and the understanding

      I know that now.

You know, I am someone who appreciates long conversations with friends after not being able to see them for several months, even years. I always enjoy meeting up and spending time with you. I love hanging out with you, guys. That's why I love listening. And talking. And walking (sometimes). And eating (this one's optional) while sharing a part of myself. And getting you share a part of your self / selves too.

I listen. I communicate (sometimes through telekinesis). I feel. I understand.

      I know we all do..

I just hope that we'll continue to do so..

secret

Today, I learned about something I never thought would happen. I just realized I caused someone so much __*_.

After 12 long months, it is finally over.

I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks. The thought of this thing happening is giving me headache.

If that's what you want, I'll give it to you.. But then again, I ask myself, Would I want that to happen? Could I? or Should I?

Sorry If that's what it seemed to you.

I still want to continue what we have started.

But wait, is there something to be continued in the first place? I hope so.. Smile
